Abstract

Being an elite athlete requires hard work and many years of dedication. Often however education suffers as a result and athletes are at a disadvantage after retiring at relatively young ages. This is particularly true in China as it has developed and changed over time. The various policies introduced have tried to address the problems associated with the dynamics of sports and the required education needed in order to survive post-sports. This paper will examine the various problems inherent with changing the way elite athletes train with both sports and education.
