The occurrence of difficult arteriovenous fistulas makes the use of vascular access in hemodialysis patients face great challenges. With the widespread application of point-of-care ultrasound, POCUS technology, it provides a new solution for clinical practice. This article reviews the principle, basic process, application status, current clinical challenges and development direction of difficult arteriovenous fistulas cannulation guided by POCUS technology, in order to provide reference for the standardized clinical application and future research direction of this technology.
